Being Positive

Self Improvement

Hi beautiful person!

Do you ever say to yourself, “I am going to be so positive today”, “I won’t complain”, “I will lift others up”, and enjoy my day today.

But…

It does not always happen that easily now does it?

I am going to share my tips on how I switched from being a kind of positive person into a complete positive person.

Are you ready to be positive all the time? I will take that as a yes.

Firstly, lets understand what being a positive person means. It doesn’t mean forcing a smile all the time, it doesn’t mean you can’t be upset, and it doesn’t mean everything has to go your way in life for you to be positive. Being positive means:

pos·i·tive
ˈpäzədiv/Submit
adjective
1.
consisting in or characterized by the presence or possession of features or qualities rather than their absence.

You are able to cry, let out your thoughts out on what is happening, but realizing it is not the end of the world. You are able to see there is so much more to life than struggling. You remain optimistic, not complaining, but rather occupying yourself with the good.

  1. Recognize when you say negative things or think negatively. Do you underestimate yourself, do you laugh along with your friends when they are complaining about everything, do you start your day off dreading it, do you constantly complain about work, homework, cleaning, taking a shower, people, or other things? Think of common situations and things you say that are negative and write them down!
  2. Now that you know when you are negative, be aware of each one. The next time you are about to say or think the negative… CATCH YOURSELF. Okay, now that you stopped yourself from thinking or saying the negative you can now REPLACE it with a positive!
  3. Replacements (say it out loud or in you head)

Self doubt:  I LOVE MYSELF, I CAN DO THIS, I BELIEVE IN MY ABILITIES

Complaining: TODAY IS A GOOD DAY, I AM GRATEFUL, IT IS OKAY

*REMAIN THANKFUL & GRATEFUL! (start a gratitude journal. write down each morning 3 things you are grateful for. this will help in recognizing positives.)

ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS

-random patches of flowers

-a new candle

-nostalgic places

-coffee shops

-singing songs in the car by yourself/ with friends

-the stillness of sitting by a lake/beach

Constantly say those positive affirmations, remind yourself that little situations are not that big after all once you look at the big picture, and remind of yourself of small things that make you happy and realize it is better to focus on those than what is negative and going wrong.

Focusing on the negative will not get you anywhere. On the other hand, being positive will get you everywhere.

Being positive will help in you knowing you can do anything, moving on from situations that do not add anything good, and being a light in the darkness.

Are you feeling a little more positive now?

If so, go write down your negatives then positive replacements! Write down the little things you love & go buy an empty notebook to start a gratitude journal!

Have a wonderful day positive person.
