Prioritizing what MATTERS

Christianity

Hi amazing person!

I am so glad you are here today.

Lets get right into it.

The priorities that the world encompasses versus the priorities we should actually have are IMPORTANT to separate, so we do not get led astray.

Our world prioritizes how many Instagram followers you have, how nice your car is, how “in shape” you are, how wealthy you are, the constant search for a relationship/hook up, and the list continues. Through personal experience with myself  & others & the media, this is what I have gathered to believe what the world’s priorities are. It is typically either materialistic, appearance based, or it has to do with companionship.

These things will NEVER EVER satisfy us. We will always want the new best thing. We will always want more money. We will always want more and more people to love us. We will always want to look handsome or beautiful.

You will believe you need more of these “worldly wants” because there is a belief that these things matter, BUT THESE THINGS ARE FLEETING. The things of the world are not permanent. You will have friends that leave you, followers that will unfollow you, weight that will be gained, and materials that will be replaced.

WE NEED TO LOOK ABOVE.

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Our God is the only thing that is permanent. He is eternal. These things are not eternal. You will never truly be satisfied with your life and who you are if your priorities are things of this world and not our amazing God. Our amazing God is not fleeting.

Matthew 6:19 “Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where  thieves break in and steal.”

People can take away all of those worldly things, but NOBODY CAN TAKE AWAY THE LOVE GOD HAS FOR YOU. We are living for Him. We are not alive to be in constant search of temporary things, but we are alive to constantly search and spread the kingdom of the only permanent thing in our lives right now and for eternity, God.
