Simple Ways to Stay Close to God

Hi amazing person!☆

I think it is so important to realize that we not only need to stay close to God when we are praying to Him before we go to bed or on our way to work in the morning, but we constantly need this closeness to Him throughout our WHOLE day.

God is like our friend or family member. We are always checking in and talking with them for advice or just occurrences throughout our day. We need to interact and stay close with our God in a similar way!

Here are a few simple ways:

Reading a devotional.

I love doing this over a topic I am struggling with because I always keep the devotional  in my head throughout the day. It is a great way to keep God’s truth in our mind.☆

Pray at random times.

You don’t have to just pray before you go to bed or when you wake up, BUT praying throughout your day just to talk about ANYTHING to God is a great way to keep your relationship strong. You can just start a random conversation with our amazing God and He will listen no matter what.☆

Worship music.

Worship music will take you to different AMAZING heights. They are filled with His truth. There are so many powerful worship songs that you can sing out to God and that will make you feel alive with his immense love!☆

It is so important to constantly keep immersing ourselves in Him so we DO NOT get attacked by the world and its lies.

Find ways that feel NATURAL and that you ENJOY  in order to stay close to God throughout each day. Let it fill your heart up so you ALWAYS feel protected, worthy, and filled with the truth of our God. ♡

Are You In A “Waiting Season”?

Are you in a season in your life where everything feels stagnant?

Personally, this is one of the toughest seasons to go through because you can either do absolutely NOTHING or you can use this rather “boring” season of life to improve yourself and set new goals.

After experiencing this season, I can tell you it was one of the most amazing seasons of my life.

It was filled with self discovery, improving who I am, finding what I like and dislike and really tuning into my strengths and weaknesses.

I may have not had a lot going on in the circumstances of my life, but I turned the stable conditions of my life into a fulfilling and energizing season WITHIN myself. Trust me when I say to fully take advantage of this waiting season in your life and turn to YOURSELF (not your outside circumstances).★★★★

When this waiting season passes and a new season takes life, you will be able to transfer your discoveries into a more busy season in your life.

Ways to take advantage of this WAITING SEASON:

  1. Read books on self improvement/discovery
  2. Try things that scare you
  3. Start new goals
  4. Grow your relationship with God and your faith
  5. Open yourself up to other’s ideas which will in turn create expansion upon your ideas

God’s Helping Hands

I have an amazing story to share in this post today!

The other night I prayed to God telling Him I felt like we weren’t as close and I was growing distant from Him.

The next day, my family had a woman come visit our house about our roof and for some reason, she felt compelled to tell her story. She was married for 30 years & got in a messy divorce after her husband cheated on her with her married best friend. WOW. She then lost her 3 sons after losing in the court. She was not allowed to talk to them for a WHOLE YEAR. She became homeless and living off food stamps and others money, but still ended up going to church and donating some of the little amount she had.

She PRAYED AND PRAYED. A year later, she was able to talk to her kids again. Months later out of God’s grace, she got a job in the roofing business. She said even when she had no money in her account somehow the Lord provided to get her through the month. Now today she runs her own roofing business! Even more astonishing, she got hired after all her struggles, on the date she found out her husband cheated on her with her best friend & THEN she started her company years later on her and her ex- husband’s wedding anniversary!

Life came full circle. No matter how low her life dropped, she got lifted up in ways she could not even imagine due to her faithfulness to God.

She had a glow that was filled with the joy of our God. You would never have known the lows she had been through based upon the happiness she radiated.

Also, God answered my prayer and completely placed this instance the other day to bring me closer to Him like I asked!

I hope this story shows you the epitome of our God and that He will provide, He will break what breaks you and lift you up to places you can not even imagine by just having faith in His plans.

God is good.

Showing God to Non-Believers

Do you have a close friend, family member, or even just an acquaintance who does not believe, but all you want to do is show them who God is?

How do we spread God’s love to others without forcing anything upon them?

The closest way of showing God to non-believers is through who we ARE.

By showing non-believers your light, they will see God working through you. The little things they notice about you such as: your passion for Christ, your friendliness, laughter + smiles, your thoughtfulness to every being, and other traits, will be drawn back to Christ. People want to have those traits. They want to be happy and full of life all the time. Christ gives us that everyday.

By just being yourself, we are able to bring the light of God to the world. Through this, it can be seen to non-believers. It shows them that our amazing God makes us the best versions of ourselves and He does make our lives the fullest it can be.

People take note of the little things whether they verbalize it or not.

Spread the light you have from God to non-believers and you never know what could come out of just being yourself.

Does God Hear Your Prayers?

Have you been praying and praying, but not seeing anything be answered? It can make you doubt prayer and want to give up on He who loves every part of us.
Let me be the one to say do not give up.
Do not give up on prayer.

Job 22:27 You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.

I promise he hears you, and will answer to you. He may answer in a way that is not obvious at the time, but as time passes on you will find out he answered your prayer through a hardship or a lesson learned .
Other times, it may be a super obvious answer.

In 1 Book of Samuel, Hannah a second wife, was ridiculed because she could not bear children like the first wife, due to infertility. Hannah prayed to God, “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut (1 Samuel 11).” She was then later blessed with 3 sons and 2 daughters. Hannah said she had been “…pouring out my soul before the Lord (1 Samuel 15).”
No matter how he answers…
He is here with you. Always.

Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

De-clutter Your Mind

Thoughts are constantly racing through your mind. Each filling up a space within you with worry, fears, doubt, judgement, and negativity.

So what are the point of these pointless thoughts that only do more harm than good?

This unnecessary clutter of our mind risks our peace and God’s plans for us.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

He wants us to live fearlessly, in love, faithful in His plans, not to judge others, but be open to everyone. Through this, the positive thoughts will fill our mind with undeniable truth.

Instead of letting doubt and fear fill your mind, fill it with your capabilities and what COULD happen. Remember that God is cheering you on every step of the way. He overrides any doubts you are having because He gives you FULL CAPABILITY ALL THE TIME.

What an amazing God we have… and it doesn’t end here!!

Never judge another or let another judge you. We are all on this Earth together as children of His kingdom. No one is better than the other. We all have our faults, sins, and weaknesses… but what does it matter what anyone else thinks about those when your God forgives you and loves you through IT ALL?

Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Live with a clear mind. De- clutter your mind of things where God is not present and instead fill it with God’s truth and his presence.

Salt and Light

Matthew 5:13-16
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

In these verses Jesus is speaking to us to be the salt and light of the world.

God is the salt of our Earth. He enhances our lives during our time here just as salt enhances the flavoring of food. Salt is used to store and keep food fresh. Similarly, He uses His salt to keep us restored and freshly alive every day when we face the world. He wants us to salt the Earth with His love, hope, grace, and faith.

A smile, hug, reminder, or piece of advice are examples of salt we can use to keep the world alive with God. Spreading his word. Being yourself. It is so easy, and God will be so proud you are being salty (in the right way) (; .
As a Christian, it is so important to sprinkle salt wherever we are. Enhance your life with God and enhance others’ lives with His salt. Restore yourself every day with God just as the use of salt restores food. Keep the Earth fresh and knowing of God each day.
God is our light. He keeps us beaming and glowing. I love seeing Christians who are so on fire for God that you can always tell He is shining through them. You and I need this light of God. How amazing would it be if we all had this light shining through us? Wow!! This is what His light intends to do. He is working through us to shine light to others. How do non believers become believers? They recognize this light. How do people overcome their darkness? They recognize the light God will give.  The simple ways of spreading light are small, but the impact is so big.

Be that lamp in the darkness.

Be that lit up candle when everyone has blown theirs out.

Be the epitome of light.

No matter where your journey with God is, know that he has put into your heart to BE the salt and light of the world to preserve Him and shine the love to others. Just as Jesus was a salt and light to others, he taught his disciples to be salt and light. Now we as disciples have the ability to do the same.

There is no better happiness to be shared than the light and salt of God.

As believers, we are called to shine this light and be salt to the world.
